" This music comes from some underground cavernous community of Morlocks improvising on long dead Eastern European folk melodies. It’s the future and the past living simultaneously in the same music. Most of the instrumentation sounds acoustic in origin, with creaky little voices created by toothless little trolls. Each piece is a perfect slice of weirdness. Just long enough to sink into its exotic fabric and just brief enough to want more. All in all, I’d say this is a near perfect record. I’m overjoyed that Bram Bosteels is on this planet. Hier geen eenduidige stemmingmakerij, maar een geluid dat rijk is aan details, waarbij alle kleine bouwstenen organisch in één geheel samen getrokken worden.Alles wordt gelijkmatig in de mix gezet. Niets overheerst, waardoor een fascinerende gelaagdheid ontstaat.Naast het zorgvuldig opgebouwde totaalplaatje, bezit de muziek van Kaboom Karavan ook de gave om de tijd stil te zetten. Dit heeft een desoriënterend effect dat nog versterkt wordt door het ruimtelijke geluid, waardoor de luisteraar alle vaste grond onder de voeten verliest.Hoe mooi en esthetisch gaaf het allemaal wel niet kan zijn, valt het best te horen in ‘Down the Out’. "... .Barra Barra ne se limite pas à l’empilement de couches synthétiques puisque KK fait fréquemment appel à des instruments réels pour orchestrer ses morceaux. À ce titre, l’apport de la contrebasse de Fred Van De Moortel permet de mettre en place un dialogue particulièrement riche avec la manipulation d’objets à laquelle se livre Stijn Dickel , le tout lié par les interventions de Bram Bosteels .
